Chairman of the Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry Takes Part in a Key Panel at the Sofia Economic Forum Organized by the Delphi Economic Forum

Mr. Savvas Karafilidis, President and Founder of the Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BHCCI), participated as a speaker in a key central panel of the Sofia Economic Forum, organized by the internationally renowned Delphi Economic Forum—one of the most significant economic platforms in Southeast Europe.

The panel, titled “Building Bridges: Infrastructure Development and Regional Integration in Southeast Europe,”
focused on the strategic importance of transport and logistics infrastructure—including roads, railways, and ports—for strengthening regional connectivity, boosting trade, and integrating Southeast European economies with the rest of Europe.

High-Level Participation and Institutional Dialogue

Mr. Karafilidis joined a distinguished panel of senior government officials, representatives of international financial institutions, and regulatory authorities, including:

  • Mr. Grozdan Karadjov – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Bulgaria
  • Mr. Assen Vassilev – Minister of Finance of the Republic of Bulgaria
  • Mr. Jason Brett Pellmar – Country Manager for Bulgaria, World Bank Group
  • Ms. Manuela Naessl – Country Director for Bulgaria, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
  • Mr. Konstantinos Aravossis – Vice President and Waste Management Board Chairman, Regulatory Authority for Waste, Energy and Water, Greece
  • Mr. Savvas Karafilidis – President and Founder, Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The discussion was moderated by Mr. George Kremlis, Ambassador of the European Public Law Organisation (EPLO) to Bulgaria.

Initiative for Connectivity between the Aegean Sea, the Black Sea and the Danube River

During the panel discussion, Mr. Karafilidis made a public announcement of an upcoming special international event dedicated to enhancing connectivity between the ports of the Aegean Sea, the Black Sea, and the Danube River.

The event will take place on March 14, 2026, in Thessaloniki and will be co-organized by the Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). Its aim is to bring together representatives of the public sector, business community, and international institutions for practical dialogue and concrete solutions in the field of transport and logistics integration.

Mr. Karafilidis extended an official invitation to all institutional and business leaders present to join and actively contribute to this important initiative.

The Chamber’s Role as a Regional Bridge

Mr. Karafilidis’ participation in the Sofia Economic Forum once again highlighted the active role of the Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a bridge between businesses and institutions in Bulgaria and Greece, as well as its strong commitment to regional connectivity, sustainable economic development, and strategic cooperation in Southeast Europe.
