During the Bulgarian-Greek Business Forum organized by the Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 27.02.2025, the Minister of Development of Greece Mr. Panagiotis Theodorikakos, who was a guest of the forum, gave an interview to BNT.

The Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BHCCI) was the organizer of a major economic forum, which was hosted by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). On 27.02.2025, Thursday, in Sofia, at the invitation of the Chairman of the Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Savvas Karafyllidis, the Minister of Development of the Republic of Greece Mr. Panagiotis Theodorikakos and the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance of Greece Mr. Christos Dimas arrived for the forum. Bilateral G2G (Government to Government) meetings were held between the Greek ministers and their Bulgarian counterparts: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Grozdan Karadzhov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Tomislav Donchev, Minister of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Petar Dilov and Deputy Minister of Environment and Water of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Atanas Kostadinov.

The ministers spoke to hundreds of business representatives from Bulgaria and Greece, and their speeches can be viewed on the BHCCI website. The Honorary Director of the European Commission and Ambassador of the European Public Law Organization in Bulgaria, Mr. Georgios Kremlis, had prepared a special speech. Official speakers of the forum were also H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Greece to Bulgaria Mr. Marios Liberopoulos, the Minister Counsellor at the Economic and Commercial Promotion Office at the Embassy of Romania in Bulgaria Mr. Radu Moldovan, the Minister Plenipotentiary for Economic and Trade Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Greece in Bulgaria Mr. Dimitrios Michas, the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency Mrs. Mila Nenova, and the Honorary President of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Emmanuil Vlahogiannis who joined online via video link.

The event was opened by Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, President of BCCI, and Mr. Savvas Karafilidis, President of BHCCI, and moderator was Mrs. Gabriela Dimitrova, Director of the International Cooperation and International Organizations Directorate at BCCI. The official part of the forum was broadcast live on the ZOOM platform.

The live translation in a booth from and into Bulgarian, Greek and English was carried out by the team of translators of BHCCI, Ms. Evgenia Komarova, Ms. Marina Delivlaeva and Mr. Miroslav Filipov.

The forum was attended by over 100 representatives of Bulgarian and Greek companies from all sectors of the economy, representatives of Bulgarian municipalities, banking and credit institutions and industrial parks. Some of the companies held B2B meetings under the program, and the rest exchanged contacts during the forum. At the initiative of BHCCI, students from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and New Bulgarian University held a one-day internship by observing and assisting in the communication of the meetings between the companies and assisting the organizers.

The event was covered by the Bulgarian and Greek media, and numerous articles with the speakers’ statements were published. And Minister Panagiotis Theodorikakos gave an exclusive interview to BNT journalist Mrs. Radina Cheshmedzhieva.
